The eth6 port on the back of the r400 is a 10Gbps fiber-optic port that can be used for Usage monitoring. It comes pre-configured so no additional configuration is required. It just needs to be cabled.
Cable the 10Gbps Usage monitoring interface
To cable the r400 for 10Gbps Usage monitoring:
- Configure port mirroring on your switch so that the source mirror port is the one you want to monitor and the destination mirror port is the one you will connect to the r400.
- Using a Duplex LC multimode fiber-optic cable, connect eth6 on the back of the r400 to the destination mirror port on the switch.
- eth6 is ready to use for 10Gbps Usage monitoring.
