If you no longer want an Enterprise Monitoring Point (EMP) to access APM you can either decommission it or reset it to factory defaults.

Decommissioning a monitoring point resets its APM access configurations but does not affect its network configuration (for example, its hostname, IP address, and any static routes) or the software it is running. After decommissioning the monitoring point is accessible on the network.

Resetting to factory defaults resets both the network and APM access configurations and re-installs the software from the local image. After resetting to factory defaults the monitoring point is not accessible on the network.

In either case, from an APM perspective the monitoring point cannot be reached. It status will show as disconnected. Any paths and monitoring data are not removed from your organization until you delete the monitoring point.

The effects of these procedures are summarized in the following table:

Procedure Software change? Network config change? APM access config change?
Decommission N N Y (factory)(no APM access)
Reset to factory defaults Y (local image) Y (factory) Y (factory)(no APM access)
