Access via Web Admin
Some AppNeta Monitoring Point models have a Web Admin interface that’s used as the primary management interface.
Log in to Web Admin
There are a few different methods to log into the Web Admin interface depending on its state.
- If the Monitoring Point is currently connected to APM, use Method 1.
- If the Monitoring Point has been connected to APM in the past but is not connected now, use Method 2.
- If the Monitoring Point has never been connected to APM, use Method 3.
Method 1: Log in via APM
- Log in to APM.
- Make sure you are using the correct organization
- Navigate to > Manage Monitoring Points.
- Click the Monitoring Point you want to connect to.
- Click Launch Monitoring Point Web Admin… in the right side panel.
- Log in.
- Use credentials for the Monitoring Point.
- If you are unable to login, see Can’t log in.
Method 2: Log in directly (hostname or IP address from APM)
- Determine the Monitoring Point hostname or IP address from APM.
- Enter the IP address or hostname in the address bar of your web browser.
- Use
https://<hostname-or-ip>
for m25, m35, v35, m50, m70, r45, r90, or r1000. - Use
http://<hostname-or-ip>
for m22, m30, r40, or r400.
- Use
- Log in.
- Use credentials for the Monitoring Point.
- If you are unable to login, see Can’t log in.
Method 3: Log in directly (hostname or IP address from USB)
- Extract the Monitoring Point configuration using a USB stick.
- Double-click the .html file on the USB stick to open it in a browser.
- The System Host Name field contains the hostname.
- The IP Address field contains the IP address.
- Enter the IP address or hostname in the address bar of your web browser.
- Use
https://<hostname-or-ip>
for m25, m35, v35, m50, m70, r45, r90, or r1000. - Use
http://<hostname-or-ip>
for m22, m30, r40, or r400.
- Use
- Log in.
- Use credentials for the Monitoring Point.
- If you are unable to login, see Can’t log in.
Determine the Monitoring Point hostname or IP address
Once a Monitoring Point has connected to APM, you can view its hostname and IP address.
To view a Monitoring Point’s hostname or IP address from APM:
- Log in to APM.
- Make sure you are using the correct organization
- Navigate to > Manage Monitoring Points.
- Click the Monitoring Point you want to connect to. In the right pane:
- the Name field contains the hostname.
- the Public IP Address field contains the public IP address.
- Use this if you are connecting to the Monitoring Point across the internet.
- the Local Network Interfaces field contains the active Monitoring Point interfaces and the local IP address of each.
- Use this if you are connecting to the Monitoring Point locally.
Can’t log in?
- Try using the default Monitoring Point credential.
- Make sure the device status is OK
.
- Make sure the device is upgraded to the latest software.
- Make sure you’re using http:// or https:// as appropriate.
- If using a hostname, try again using its IP.
- If using a public IP, verify that port forwarding is enabled on the device performing NAT.
- Make sure you created a firewall rule for our capture server.
- Power the Monitoring Point off then on.
- If you are still unable to login, open a support ticket.
